Urban Trees
Urban trees although being very much a part of our towns and villages are no less inspiring than trees in more wild places. Subject to the same processes as their more rural counterparts they still contribute to the habitats, shelter and ecosystem that support a plethora of other species of flora and fauna. Human beings are no less in need of and appreciative of those benefits; we also have a contemplative aspect which can find comfort and be stimulated by the trees in our neighbourhoods.
The power of trees to grace and transform our urban spaces from sterile and soulless to soulful and enriching is unsurpassed.
βThe paintings in this group are all inspired by the particular characteristic with which they imbue their urban setting.β
